Turn it over.
Take it apart.

Spin the Mini, then open it up to see how the parts are meant to fit together.

What’s inside

Everything in one sealed head.

The first SoilPulse Probe pairs a probe with a separate reader. The Mini folds it all into a head the size of a matchbox, so it can stay in the soil and send readings without anyone standing over it.

An exploded view of the SoilPulse Mini concept: cover, gasket, circuit board, battery and base stacked above five sensing rods
  • CoverAn off-white lid that keeps the electronics dry and out of the sun.
  • GasketA seal between the cover and the base.
  • Circuit boardController, radio and a printed antenna on one board.
  • BatteryA compact cell, so there are no cables to the field.
  • Base and status lightA forest-green base with a light that shows the sensor is working.
  • Five sensing rods60 mm stainless steel rods for moisture, pH, EC, temperature and NPK.

How it would connect

Set it once. Leave it in the ground.

The proposed design. The connection still needs to be built and proven in the field.

  1. 01

Set it up from your phone

Bluetooth links the Mini to a nearby phone once, to register it to a sector of your farm.

  2. 02

    Readings travel on their own

LoRaWAN carries readings over long distances to a KALON gateway at the edge of the farm.

  3. 03

    Advice on your phone

KALON passes readings to SoilPulse, and advice comes back in your language.

Watch how readings travel

Proposed specifications

SoilPulse Mini.

Head
45 × 32 × 22 mm, with an off-white cover and a forest-green base
Height
About 82 mm overall
Sensing
Five exposed stainless steel rods, 60 mm long
Inside
Controller, radio, compact battery and antenna in one sealed head
Status
A small status light on the front
Connection
Proposed: LoRaWAN through a KALON field gateway, with Bluetooth for setting it up from a nearby phone
Stage
Industrial design concept. Electronics, sealing, battery life and radio range still need engineering validation

The Mini is a design concept, not a finished product. Its sensing, sealing, battery life and radio range have not yet been tested, and every detail here may change.

Available for field trials SoilPulse Probe The sensor in the field today: a five-rod probe with its own reader and screen.
